Emigall Partner perfomance issue

$

Hello

We're using Emigall to migrate BP- Partner data into the system. We have to migrate 360.000 registers.

First we use parallel background processing to load 30.000 register in each one.

We notice the perfomance was very bad, so we decided to stop the load.

In our second attempt we applied the following SAP Notes in our system

First of all we deactivate CRM replication with BF11 transaction (BD-MID)

Then applied the following notes in our system.

168960 - Deactivate statistics update for migration

459434 - Performance PARTNER / CONNOBJ (Change documents address)

805551 - CONNOBJ: Change documents, address

436715 - Switching on local posting with migration

We also check the following ones (but are not suituable in our SAP version):

713101 - Performance problem during check of form of address

720223 - Change documents are written when migrating from BP

735229 - Inperfomant accesses within ISU_Partner_Memory_Get

752926 - Unnecessary accesses on table ECUS760709 - Change Document for Tax Number not suppressed

713659 - IS migration - Performance increase with access to KSM

752943 - Performance - Update migration statistics only with commit

759426 - Commit buffering does not perform with migration object

In this second attempt we started over 8.000 reg/hour but then  performance gets very bad to 1.000 reg/hour

Any idea or suggestion?

EMIGALL: migration project

Hi,

I am looking for some documentation regarding migration projects. In particular:

  • Roadmap of a migration project.

  • Main aspects when planning a migration project.

  • Best practices.

  • Which are the parameters to consider in order to estimate time, resources, and so on.

As you see, the query is more related to the plannig point of view than technical point of view(how to use the tool).

Thanks, in advance for your help.

EMIGALL custom migration object for Z-tables

Hi gurus:

In my current IS-U project we needed to create some Z tables to hold historical data from some legacy systems.

I wanted to explore the possibility of using EMIGALL custom-migration objects to do the data loads into the Z-tables.

Has anyone done it before and how is this possible?

Thanks to you all!

EMIGALL migration objects transport

I am starting to wonder how EMIGALL migration programs are transported from one ECC instance to another?

I am an LSMW expert so I know that LSMW programs are usually exported and then imported into a different ECC instance for using.   Now sure if we can do the same thing with EMIGALL load programs? Thanks guys!

To understand EMIGALL nested data structures

I am trying to understand the nested data structures in an EMIGALL data objects.  From the image below you can see a data object has a sub-object, and sub-sub-object and so on.... I wonder how this is setup?  Where do I go to see the hierarchy of the data structures?  How is data supposed to be populated?

Thanks!

ISU_SIMULATION_PERIOD_BILL for grouped installation

$

Hi,

We have configured installation grouping data exchange as below:

For Secondary to Primary: ZQUAN_MPRN -> ZSUPP_SITE

For Primary to Secondary: ZSUPP_SITE-> ZTOT_SITE

We always bill the primary installation before the secondaries.

And we use the operand ZTOT_SITE for calculations when billing the secondary.

The problem is, when we perform billing through EA00/EAMABI, the operand is filled with the correct values and the calculations are correct.

When we use the FM ' ISU_SIMULATION_PERIOD_BILL' the operand has 0 value.

Is there anything we are missing.

We call the FM with the below parameters:

X_VERTRAG = The correct ISU contract

X_BEGABRPE = 01.07.2015

X_ENDABRPE = 31.07.2015

X_BILLINGRUNNO = 1

X_NO_UPDATE = X

X_SIMULATION = 06

Any input will be much appreciated.

Thanks.

Hi,

I have been offered a role of CIC Developer in one of the implementation project.

Can anyone tell the role of a CIC developer in SAP IS-U project and whether it is good for carrer or not.

DFKKZS - Further Selection for Payments

Does anyone have documentation supporting the DFKKZS further selection for payments standard process in ISU?  Is there config supporting this feature?  Are there events supporting this feature?  I've dug around in IMG and FQEVENTS and can not find anything.  The SAP Help is not very helpful.  This feature is being used when a payment lot from a bank is received via FPB3 and the selection category is 'G' and selection value is '*'.  I realize that this is when a check or payment has been received that will apply to multiple Contract Accounts, but how does the system know what contract accounts to derive in table DFKKZS?  This is puzzling me.

Thank you kindly

The similarities between mobile apps and CRM

$

Today is back to the future day. October 21st 2015 is the date to which Marty traveled. This was back in the 80s.

Back to the past with mobility and CRM. An industry expert recently told me how mobility worked in the 80s when a big utility in Latin America introduced mobile meter reading. At that time, paper-based processes were standard, sometimes the paper was then read by machines. Battery technology was at the stage of supporting flashlights, RC toys and starting cars. So the mobile meter reading solution consisted of a mobile computer and a 12 V car battery that would last a couple of hours, drawn on a small cart behind the meter reader. It was an advance from the past, worked well and was so much better than using paper. Synchronizing the data was rarely an issue, orders were downloaded and results were uploaded via file transfer. Data inconsistencies in the route or with exchanged and new meters required manual steps. There were no big complaints overall using this technology.

Fast forward to today when mobile devices, battery technology and mobile networks have advanced to a degree that hardware is no longer a concern. But mobile meter reading solutions still follow the same process principle: Meter reading information is replicated to a mobile device and then synchronized back to the billing system. Of course, there can be cases when data get’s out of sync. If data is replicated and distributed both ways, updates can collide. While the meter reader is in an offline mode, even if it was minutes, seconds or less, an agent in the call center could have entered another meter reading for the same meter or even changed the meter in the backend. In this case, the update would create an exception.

Is there a way to avoid or minimize these collisions? Yes, for most cases but not completely. If the data is always as fresh as possible, delayed updates are seldom. The more we move to real-time and cloud based solution, the less we delay updates. Stopping to change the same data in different systems at the same time is however more of a process issue.

Now think about your personal mobile devices. You might have noticed that sometimes for example your address book asks you to check certain entries or simply creates duplicates. This usually stems from colliding updates on your phone, tablet or laptop trying to sync. Changing the same contact, appointment, task or whatever you replicate to different applications can cause offline / online update collisions.

From the beginning, CRM, a separate system, was integrated with ECC via replication. A number of data objects like the business partner, the contract or the premise are replicated. Also since the beginning of CRM, we have the never-ending discussion about replication issues. And it seems hard to explain why in certain cases a data replication can fail and needs a user interaction and why this should be acceptable. Now I found another way to explain this.

When I see a call center agent opening 3 screens in parallel during a call and changing the same data on different screens, the same customer, the same contract or same premise at the same time, I simply say: Now imagine doing this with your mobile devices. Change the same contact, appointment, task or whatever you synchronize between those devices on your phone, tablet and laptop at the same time and see how it lines up later. That explains.

Most fundamentals never change. Where is my hoverboard?

Cheers,

Robert

Dunning activity FM is not working

$

Hello Experts,

We have a custom FM which is currently attached to one of the dunning activity and which should be triggered at dunning level 50.  Whenever we are dunning a customer at dunning level 50 it’s successfully getting dunned without any error and generates the dunning notice as well but somehow that attached custom FM is not getting triggered in dunning activity run.

We have checked in production and found out that this issue is only applicable to lower environment. The configuration that we have for that Dunning procedure and dunning level is same as Production environment. Have any one of you faced this issue earlier?

Thanks,

Rahul.

configurable products with BRF in ISU-CRM Ehp2

$

Good afternoon Experts

We are in an ISU-CRM Ehp2 environment and are currently implementing configurable products using simplified configuration ( with storage in general container structures).

We need to develop a couple of relationships between the product attribute.

For example if attribute Z1 = A then attribute Z2 should be hidden and not mandatory and if z1 =B then attribute z2 should be editable and mandatory.

Making attribute Z2 hidden or editable can be done by using the the Changeability option from the "Utilities condition for attributes" assignment block.

Are there any suggestions on how we could make an attribute  (Z2) mandatory in one case and not mandatory in the other by using BRF plus?

Could the "check rule" option from the "Utilities attributes" assignment block be of help. Any inputs on how this is used (any sample function or brf application name)?

Best regards

Razvan Zainea

sap error Nr 0249 (The deferral date must be after due date 29.12.2015)

Hi Experts,

I want to create 2 installments plans for a business partner having 2 contracts.

For the first installment plan I use open items from the first contract and it went successful.

But by creating the second installment plan using open items from the second contract, I get the sap error

Nr 0249 (The deferral date must be after due date 29.12.2015)

  1. 29.12.2015 is the due date of the last term of the first installment plan.

Can anyone suggest an idea, I will appreciate it.

Tierno

EMIGALL data import values restricted

Geniuses:

See screen shot below. I was trying to import data via a standard EMIGALL object INSTLN .   As you can see from the screen shot, when I was trying to select the value for PREMISE, the popup selection screen restricts my selection to preset values in "COMPANY" and "MIGRATION OBJECT" fields.  The "MIGRATION OBJECT" field is fine, but why restrict "COMPANY" so I can't select the values I want to?

Currently cheque lots are configured in FICA to upload cheque lot file received from Bank into SAP using FPB3. Now, additional RTGS/NEFT files are also received from the bank which is required to be uploaded into system. What is the best way to upload files for RTGS?NEFT? Using the same process as doing for cheque lots or any different approach? with the same document type?

Aggregation of load shapes over hierarchical structure of settlement units

$

Good afternoon everybody,

A client needs to aggregate settlement results over several levels (departments, functional areas, business lines, etc.). My conceptional intent is to build a hierarchical structure of settlement units representing the required structure (4 - 5 levels).

Now my question is if it would be very complicated to select and aggregate setlement parameters of a lower level into specified load profiles at the superior level.

Does this scenario require a ot of programming or can it be achieved through customizing?

Thanks in advance!

EMIGALL object migration with 11-billion rows

I have a custom object to load via EMIGALL, into a Z-table.   It has 11-billion rows.  I wonder if EMIGALL can handle that, even with distributed imports? Or shall I look into BODS?

Anyone with experience loading large volumes of data into custom EMIGALL load objects, please comment... thanks!
