You might ask yourself how you, as an SAP customer, can continuously influence and improve SAP products especially for the utilities industry?

Our answer is the current Customer Connection program for SAP for Utilities.

SAP customers have great ideas and tons of experience to add value to SAP Products and Solutions. With Customer Connection you can influence the SAP products you are using productively. This is the channel for small enhancements & improvements. The improvement delivery takes place via SAP Notes and Support Packages.

These developments are based on a close collaboration between SAP customers and SAP employees. For this - proven and well established collaboration models via SAP User Groups/Customer Communities are defined.

What do I have to do to participate?

  1. Register or login  under the following link:SAP for Utilities.
This way, you will be informed about the current status and progress of the project.

From end of April 2016 onward you will find the latest slides, on the page  SAP for Utilities under Documents and Events.

You will find out more about how you can enter improvement requests, will receive invitations to upcoming speaker corner sessions (improvement request owner explains his request).

  2. The influence space will be open for you to submit your own improvement requests and subscribe for other customer's requests on May 4th 2016 until July 15th 2016.

Note: only requests (ideas) with 5 or more subscribers will be qualified for the selection phase.

Here is an overview of the whole process and below is a detailed timeline of the project.

Company Code Restriction

Hi ,

We have multiple company codes in an Utility company.

My requirement is to block all SAP transactions processing for a company code without affecting processing of customers in other company codes.

I am planning to restrict users from accessing any of the SAP transactions for a particular company code via SAP Security.

Is there any efficient way to achieve same ?

Kindly provide experts views.

Cheers,

Error message - FPCMAP (Capacity Planning)

$

Hi,

When we try to execute transaction FPCMAP (Capacity Planning) in Production, we get the error message that the sistem/client is not modifiable.

This is a transaction used to adjust the maximum capacity of the different collection activities when executing dunning.

This "adjustment" is a task that would need to be updated very frequently (probably daily) and we don't understand why it can not be updated directly in a Production system.

Is there any standard way for the end-user to configure this transacction directly in a Production Environment

Best regards,

Marilia

MDT - IS-U Installation facts with Zero values

Hi,

I am passing the CRM product's discount values to the IS-U from CRM, and these values are getting replicated into IS-U at installation facts perfectly via MDT.

Issue:

If we do not pass any value from CRM , even then the node is getting executed and operand is being created with Zero values.

See the screen shot.

How can we stop this node execution from config?

Release Statistical Write off items to collection agency

$

Hi All,

As part of Final billing Dunning activity, we are creating Write-off and Statistical Write-offs for all the open items once it reaches the last level in the dunning procedure.

My question is, we want to release these statistical write off items to collection agency(CA) as part of dunning activity. I tried adding this activity along with the activity that creates write off and statistical write off items in the same dunning level(by giving sequential number as 1 and 2).  With this configuration it is releasing the original open items to CA but not the statistical items created as part of other activity.

Please let me know how to release statistical write off items to collection agency in the same dunning level without releasing the original items.

Thank you

Sruthi

WiFi, emergency button, eCar charging points, sensors to measure temperature, particulars in the air or the dense traffic - in Karlsruhe all of that comes in one smart lamp post. The cloud solution collecting and analyzing the data from these services is the SAP HANA cloud platform!

"Energy Sector Moving In The Right Direction"

Here is an interesting article based on the interview with Miguel Gaspar, SAP.

Engerati: "Utilities are undergoing a major business transformation as the world moves from the use of carbon-based energy to much cleaner sources in an attempt to reduce carbon emissions and replace dwindling fossil fuel supplies. As a result, the transmission and distribution networks in particular have to adapt to the need of matching demand with intermittent supply.

The energy sector has no choice but to deploy new technologies, develop and drive more collaborative business models and engage a new type of customer who is actively participating in the generation and storage of renewable energy. Utilities need to find innovative and cost-effective ways in which to manage new energy systems effectively

Creating a platform of learning

Forward-thinking utilities are keen to make the necessary changes in order to prosper in the new energy future. While recognising the challenges and opportunities that accompany the transformation, utilities want to materialise the vision they have for their businesses, explains Miguel Gaspar Silva, EMEA Industry Director Utilities, SAP. He explains: “They want to learn and understand their roadmap to make this vision a reality within their organisations. Utilities are seeking a platform to gain a better understanding of what to expect and what they still need to do in order to turn challenges into opportunities (...)" Read the full article here>

FPCJ Issue

Hello Experts,

At level of cash journal t-code FPCJ, when the action "post" is chosen our customer needs to :

1- Change default value for field BLART of the payment document created (document P1)

2- Create a specific document (P2) to include a specific tax, this document must be reconciled by the same payment document P1 (so we have to change the amount of the document P1 to include the tax amount),

I use the BAPI  BAPI_CTRACDOCUMENT_CREATE the create the Tax document, but I don't know at wich level I can change BLART and amount for document P1 and finally reconcile P2 by P1

Have you any idea of event (FQEVENTS) or any place to do that ?

Thanks

MCF Self Service App for Utilities

$

Hello Experts,

We have implemented SAP Multichannel Foundation for Utilities and Public Sector (a responsive design app) in our system.

The app is running fine in the browser with the below url.

https://XXXXXX/sap/bc/ui5_ui5/sap/umcui5_mobile/index.html

Now we want the same application as hybrid mobile app.

For that we have created an application “com.sap.umc.mobile” in SMP Admin and maintained the required configuration. We have created the required backend connection for ODATA and test of those backend connection are successful.

CRM_UTILITIES_UMC,CRM_UTILITIES_UMC_PUBLIC_SRV,CRM_UTILITIES_UMC_URM,ERP_UTILITIES_UMC,ERP_UTILITIES_UMC_PUBLIC_SRV,USERMANAGEMENT,

VBI_APPL_DEF_SRV,VBI_GEOCODER_SRV

Now we have created a cordova project and installed the required Kapsel plugin.

We have downloaded the code of the application “UMCUI5_MOBILE”, “sap.umc.mobile.foundation” & “sap.umc.mobile.public”, placed those code in the www folder of that cordova project and modified the index.html , index.js accordingly.

Now while running the index.html file in browser, all the files are loading properly, except the “metadata”. We are getting the below error.

Failed to load resource: the server responded with a status of 403 (Forbidden)

XMLHttpRequest cannot load http://xxxx/com.sap.umc.mobile/CRM_UTILITIES_UMC_URM/$metadata. Response for preflight has invalid HTTP status code 403

Also we have successfully able to build the apk file and installed the same in device.

While running the apk file we are successfully able to register the device in our SMP system, but the application is not loading properly, we are only able to see the background image.

While device debugging we found the that the same error is happening in the device also. The metadata are not able to loaded in the device.

Are we missing anything?

Any help will be great.

Thanks & Regard,

Souvik Saha

Hello,

When we save a Meterreading (in EABL/G tables), Tolerance limits are checked by FM ISU_VALID_SAP05_07_TOLERANCE (using Table TE121).

Is there the same kind of control when we save a consumption in a EDM profil (Table EPROFVAL*) ?

Do we have to use "Consistency Check Group" specify on the profil header ?

Thanks
